The message in Psalm 2 is worship with reverence and rejoice with trembling, or else! "Harsh and threatening language," you say. "Why doesn't the Psalmist remind us of the goodness and compassion of our God as reasons to worship and rejoice in Him?" The reason is that he is writing to those who have rebelled against God. When man refuses to listen to God and stubbornly seeks to do his own will, it is time to speak of the wrath of God. Psalm 2 is a dramatic warning!
